Recently remodelled and refurbished a very high spec, Weaponness House is home to up to a maximum of 61 Sixth Form students during term time at Scarborough College. The building itself is a beautiful grand Victorian property set in very large gardens on Filey Road in Scarborough, just a short walk from the school itself.
Two residential houseparents living on site with their families help the place feel like a big family home. Younger boarders live in shared rooms with shared facilities, while the Lower Sixth have shared or single rooms. For many of our Upper Sixth boarders rooms are single and en-suite.
The rear garden is a wonderful place to play games, relax and have summer BBQs. Inside, there are three communal lounges, each with a flat screen TV, kitchen, games and WiFi. All furniture was carefully chosen to reflect a home away from home. Bedroom furniture, meanwhile, is bespoke and equipped with modern features such as USB sockets and electronic light sensors.
