Recently remodelled and refurbished a very high spec, Weaponness House is home to up to a maximum of 57 Sixth Form students during term time at Scarborough College. The building itself is a beautiful grand Victorian property set in very large gardens on Filey Road in Scarborough, just a short walk from the school itself.
Two residential houseparents living on site with their families help the place feel like a big family home. Younger boarders live in shared rooms with shared facilities, while the Lower Sixth have share en-suite rooms. For our Upper Sixth boarders, all rooms are single and en-suite.
The rear garden is a wonderful place to play football and have summer BBQs. Inside, there are three communal lounges, each with a flat screen TV, kitchen, games and WiFi. All furniture was carefully chosen to reflect a home away from home. Bedroom furniture, meanwhile, is bespoke and equipped with modern features such as USB sockets and electronic light sensors.
