Meet Your House Parents

Mr Dan Robson, House Parent

Mr Dan Robson has been part of the Scarborough College community for five years, working in boarding throughout that time. Mr Robson is the Assistant Director of Sport, a teacher of science and geography.

Mr Robson is a keen footballer and cricketer and loves to make use of the facilities on campus for friendly games and training sessions. He loves being part of boarding because of the supportive nature and the students’ commitment to their time in boarding both positive and memorable.

Mr Ashley Kelly, Assistant House Parent

Promoted to Head of Maths for the 2025 – 2026 Academic Year, Mr Kelly has worked in boarding for two years, both of which in Denys Crews. He also coaches hockey during the Enrichment Programme.

In his spare time, Mr Kelly enjoys going to the gym and playing board games. Mr Kelly’s Monopoly Board Game Night, hosted at Crews House, has been won by – guess who – Mr Kelly three times in row.

About Denys Crews House

The smallest of the four houses, Crews is home to 19 boys who are usually among the youngest boys in our boarding community and usually in Years 7 to 10. Like all the boarding houses, Crews is looked after by two houseparents who live in the boarding house. They are also assisted by four academic visiting tutors.

Crews has a lounge and a beautiful open-plan kitchen with views of both the athletics track and, beyond it, the North Sea. Behind the house is also a small grass area for a kick-about and a patio for evening barbecues. The bedrooms are mostly triples and doubles and there is one single room. All bathrooms are shared. In 2019 Crews was refurbished to its current modern specifications.
