For many Scardeburgians, the journey starts as early as the world of the Our Little Owls. The Pre-School is located in a purpose-built building and is an integral part of the College as, indeed, our Little Owls are. In preparation for the Prep School; children in the Pre-School enjoy swimming lessons, French lessons, meals in the main College dining hall, Beach and Forest school. Find out more about the Pre-School.
The Scarborough College Prep School is an engaging and safe preparation for secondary school as well as a top quality primary school education. Pupils in the infants school start their specialist lessons by continuing their French lessons and embarking on new adventures with ICT lessons and music lessons. From Year 3, all pupils have sports lessons daily and enjoy more lessons taught by subject specialists, including maths and sciences. Visit our Prep School.
With the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme as the educational inspiration, the senior school focuses heavily on modern foreign languages, STEM subjects, Maths and English. Pupils are introduced to Yorkshire Grit, the College’s extracurricular programme that includes sailing, surfing, mindfulness and many other topics. Sports and an enrichment programme of more than 50 clubs and activities feature daily on the senior school calendar. Go to the Senior School page to find out more.
For many, the Scarborough College journey culminates in the Sixth Form and the IB Diploma Programme. SC Sixth-Formers have their own cafe, their own study centre and access to a fantastic team of teachers and tutors assisting them during the IB DP and the journey ahead. With excellent results year on year and a very high percentage of leavers departing for their first choice university, the Scarborough Sixth Form is an excellent choice for Year 11s at the College and elsewhere.
