There is also no commitment to having to progress to the Prep School if you join our Little Owls Pre-School although we do prioritise placements of three days or more. There are regular settling in days for our Little Owls old enough to transition to the Prep School
Applying to join the Prep School is easy as there is no waiting list for any of the year groups. If you would like your son or daughter to join the Prep School, please contact Mrs Bays via email (registrar@scarboroughcollege.co.uk) or by calling the main College telephone number.
Mrs Bays will be happy to organise a visit for your family and a meeting with the Head of the Scarborough College Prep School, Mr Chris Barker. You can also contact us to arrange a taster day for your son or daughter.
Admission to the Senior School is from age 11 or at any other point through to Sixth Form. We do not ask children to sit a formal Year 7 Entrance Exam. We do require the last two years’ school reports for all children joining the Senior School. In addition, we may request a reference from your child’s previous school. In some circumstances we may also ask your child to sit a general assessment. We invite pupils to meet and have an interview with our Headmaster, Mr Guy Emmett.
We hold our Scarborough Scholar campaign in November every year. You can also try applying for other scholarships. You can find out more about Scarborough Scholar by visiting the Scarborough Scholar page.
Our Sixth Form students study the renowned International Baccalaureate. Admission is subject to the achievement of a minimum of five GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (previously A* to C), or equivalent. We also invite you for an interview with the Headmaster and/or the Assistant Head (IB). In addition, we ask you to take an entrance examination.
For more information about IB Subjects and our ranking, please visit the highlighted pages. You can also listen to some of our IB students talk about their experiences in the IB Diploma Programme. You can find them in our Blog section.
Overseas students must submit school reports for the previous two years. We also ask for certificates (GCSE or equivalent and/or any other exams taken) and a written reference from the Head of the current/previous school.
All applicants must have a good standard of spoken English. This is also a requirement of the UK Border Agency when Visas are required. On arrival at the College students may have to complete a diagnostic test to determine their level and needs. Extra English lessons can be provided at an additional cost.
Overseas students currently studying at a UK school can apply by visiting Scarborough College.
