After much deliberation, due to the high calibre of the candidates, we are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Student Leadership Team. Our new Head of School is Anouk, who will be ably supported by three deputies – Jess, Malachi and Martha – and a team of senior prefects, heads of house and committee leaders. A full list of appointments is below.
We asked our new Head and Deputies about their appointment and why they applied, and this is what they said…
“I’m truly honoured to step into the role of Head of School. This school has changed me in amazing ways – boosting my confidence and sparking a real drive to achieve more than I thought possible. As the new Head, I’m looking forward to working with the leadership team to continue to improve the school. Together, I believe we can build on what makes this school special while creating new traditions that will create an even stronger school community.”
“I was both delighted and shocked to be able to take on the role of Deputy Head of School, following on from strong predecessors. Despite my short time here, I have been welcomed into the Scarbrough College family with open arms and I truly don’t think I could have asked for a more friendly environment to settle into. Having experienced being a day student and a boarder, I wish to make all the students of Scarborough College feel as at home as possible. I am excited to work with Mr Emmett and the rest of the Senior Leadership team and look forward to a positive year ahead!”
“Having attended Scarborough College since Year 7, it has been amazing to see the Scarborough College community bloom into something great, with each year having lots to contribute. Being part of a year group who represent us from out on the hockey pitch to alumni who have gone into subjects from animal management to art, I am more than enthusiastic to be in a leadership position. It’s an honour to represent this community, which has been a family throughout my academic tenure. I’m hopeful that I will be able to bring new ideas forward, especially with the wonderful leadership team we have this year.”
I applied to be part of the student leadership team because I am passionate about supporting our school community and helping to make a positive difference to student life. Having been at Scarborough College since Year 5, I wanted to give back to a place that has offered me so many opportunities and use my experience to help connect and represent students across all year groups. I am incredibly honoured and excited to have been appointed Deputy Head of School, and I am really looking forward to working with all of the leadership team!
