Scarborough College is a non-selective co-educational independent day and boarding school, located on the beautiful North East coast of Yorkshire.
We take students from age 3 years old in our Little Owls Nursery, all the way up to our 18 year olds studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). We are a small and friendly school, like a family in many ways.
We support our students to excel. Our students have Yorkshire Grit in abundance and are encouraged to try new experiences at every opportunity – from our Surf Academy to Duke of Edinburgh scheme, debating politics in Model UN to singing in our latest musical production.
Everything we do is designed to develop in them a real sense of resilience, kindness and love of learning. And in doing so, to help them achieve great results at both GCSE and IB Diploma Programme level.
Redefine the Classroom. Redefine the Arts. Redefine Sport. Redefine You.
Choosing the right place for your child’s education is such an important decision. One which we make as easy as possible. Applying to Scarborough College is a simple three-step process
1.Book your place on our Open Day – Saturday 4 October 2025 at 10am – 1pm
Spend the morning with us and meet the friendly staff and students who make up our school community. Tour our facilities, get involved in a science experiment and grab a bite at our international buffet in the Languages Department. We are on hand to answer any questions, just book today.
2. Start the application process
Convinced that Scarborough College is the place for your child? You can start the application process now. This does not commit you to taking up a place at the College at this stage, it is just the next step towards joining us in September 2026.
3. Have a personalised visit
You’ve seen us on Open Day, but now is the time to have a more personalised visit to the College. Your conversation with our Headmaster Mr Emmett will allow us to get to know your child better and we can also arrange for them to have a Taster Day session. This gives the opportunity to experience a full day at Scarborough College, to make sure that this is the place for them.
Applications to The Scarborough Scholar 2026 assessment day are now open for students joining Years 7-9 in 2026.
We expect our applicants to demonstrate high academic achievement as well as their future potential. Applicants will be informed by email if they have been invited to the assessment day.
Aside from academia, many applicants will wish to demonstrate the positive input they could bring to the College in the fields of sport, music, drama and visual arts. For more general information about Scholarships and Bursaries please contact our Registrar or visit this page on our website.
