Rosslyn Park Success

Scarborough College enjoyed an outstanding week at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, with strong performances across all age groups and a historic achievement for the U18 side.

The U18 boys made school history by reaching Day 2 of the Vase competition for the first time, following four impressive wins on Day 1, scoring over 100 points. Building on strong form from recent tournaments—including excellent performances at both the Seaside 7s and Barnard Castle—the team played with confidence and attacking flair. A decisive win over Colfe’s secured their progression. On Day 2, a narrow defeat to Trent in a closely contested match was followed by a strong victory over Shiplake, rounding off a memorable campaign. Particular recognition goes to Seth (Year 13), who has had an exceptional season, earning England Lambs selection and playing a key role throughout.

The U14s faced a challenging group and competed with determination throughout. A strong opening against Oundle set the tone, and despite narrow losses, the team showed resilience and physicality, scoring in each of their matches.

A combined U15/16 team also performed well, opening with an emphatic win over King’s Canterbury. They continued to show attacking intent throughout the day, though tight margins in key moments proved decisive in later matches against strong opposition.

The standout performance of the week came from the U13s, who delivered a superb unbeaten run in the group stages. Playing with confidence and flair, they scored over 70 points across their opening games before securing an impressive 15–10 win over Bishopsgate in a high-quality contest.

It was a fantastic week for the College, with all teams demonstrating skill, resilience and the values that underpin Scarborough College sport. The Rosslyn Park success featured as part of the Easter edition of The Owl, which can be viewed here
