The Scarborough Scholar sits at the heart of one of the College’s founding principles: to provide outstanding educational opportunities to deserving children from this area. Every year, we invite children from local communities to apply to become the next Scarborough Scholar, an opportunity to secure an Academic, All-Rounder, Performing Arts or Sports Scholarship.

The scholarship day, held every year in the Autumn Term, is open to students entering Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9. It includes a means-tested assessment, ensuring financial support is targeted at those who would benefit the most.

Every application must consist of two years’ school reports, a letter of recommendation from the Head Teacher and evidence of academic achievement. If you would like to apply for a Sports or Performing Arts Scholarship, we require evidence such as awards, certificates or a coach’s reference.
