Applications to The Scarborough Scholar and Scarborough Sixth Form Scholar 2026 assessment days are now open. The Scarborough Scholar is for students joining Years 7-9 in 2026. Scarborough Sixth Form Scholar is for current Y11 students.
We expect our applicants to demonstrate high academic achievement as well as their future potential. Applicants will be informed by email if they have been invited to the assessment day.
Aside from academia, many applicants will wish to demonstrate the positive input they could bring to the College in the fields of sport, music, drama and visual arts.
What you need for your application
Scarborough College is a non-selective co-educational independent day and boarding school, located on the beautiful North East coast of Yorkshire.
We take students from age 3 years old in our Little Owls Nursery, all the way up to our 18 year olds studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). We are a small and friendly school, like a family in many ways.
We support our students to excel. Our students have Yorkshire Grit in abundance and are encouraged to try new experiences at every opportunity – from our Surf Academy
to Duke of Edinburgh scheme, debating politics in Model UN to singing in our latest musical production.
Everything we do is designed to develop in them a real sense of resilience, kindness and love of learning. And in doing so, to help them achieve great results at both GCSE and IB Diploma Programme level.
