Why parents choose Scarborough College Prep School

Our children enjoy…

  • Small class sizes – no more than 15 children and two teaching adults
  • Specialist Early Years teachers in Sport, Music, French, Design & Technology and IT
  • Facilities tailored for learning and fun outdoor space
  • Yorkshire Pebbles outdoor learning programme
  • Individual care and strong relationships with staff and peers

Learning that goes beyond the classroom

Through our Yorkshire Pebbles programme, children explore woodland, coastline, fields and gardens – developing independence, resilience and wonder in the world around them.

Highlights include surfing at Scarborough’s North Bay, in collaboration with Dexter’s, a programme of Forest School Activities, and trips to local farms and historical sites to gain a greater understanding of the world around us.

What to expect at the Preparing Your Child for School event

During your visit, your child will enjoy playful, creative and outdoor learning activities, while you discover how we support each child to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Our teaching team will be on-hand to answer your questions about life at school over a cup of tea, as well as giving you advice and guidance on how to prepare your child for starting school.

There will also be the opportunity to tour our school facilities, including the reception dining hall and outdoor play area.

From phonics and early numeracy to music, forest and beach school and foreign language exposure, our experienced Early Years team has many years experience of ensuring that every child feels known, valued and excited about learning.

We would be delighted to welcome you on the day.
