All admissions and enquiries for Scarborough College including the Pre-School, Prep School, Senior School and the Sixth Form should be directed to our Registrar, by telephoning +44 (0)1723 360620, by e-mailing registrar@scarboroughcollege.co.uk or by completing the Contact Us form on the website. The school fees can be found in the download area at the bottom of this page.
If you would like your son or daughter to join our nursery, please contact our Pre-School and Prep School Registrar, Mrs Amy Bays, at the College. Mrs Bays will be happy to help you during the process and tell you how to drop in to our weekly Parents & Tots sessions to get a feel for the pre-school.
There are no assessments, just an application form to complete in order to register your child and secure your preferred sessions. There is also no commitment to having to progress to the Prep School if you join our Little Owls Pre-School. If you would like to consider applying for the Prep School from the Little Owls, then please talk to Mrs Hunter. She will be delighted to arrange a taster day.
Joining the Prep School is easy as there is no waiting list for any of the year groups. If you would like your son or daughter to join the Prep School, please contact Mrs Bays, the Prep School Registrar, via email (registrar@scarboroughcollege.co.uk) or by calling the main College telephone number.
Mrs Bays will be happy to organise a visit for the family and a meeting with the Head of the Scarborough College Prep School, Mr Chris Barker. If you would like to arrange a taster day for your son or daughter, please contact Mrs Bays.
Admission to the Senior School is from age 11 or at any other point through to Sixth Form. There is no longer a formal Year 7 Entrance Exam for pupils wishing to join the College at Year 7.
We ask to see the last two years’ school reports for all children joining the Senior School. We may also request a reference from your child’s previous school and general assessments to be taken in certain circumstances. All pupils are invited to meet and have an interview with our Headmaster, Mr Guy Emmett.
We hold our Scarborough Scholar campaign in November annually though more traditional scholarships can also be applied for in March each year. You can find out more about Scarborough Scholar by visiting the Scarborough Scholar page on this Website.
Applications to join the school are welcome at any time, subject to places being available. We currently have a waiting list in Year 8.
Our Sixth Form students study the renowned International Baccalaureate. Admission is subject to the achievement of a minimum of five GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (previously A* to C), or equivalent, and an interview with the Headmaster and/or the Assistant Head (IB). Students may also be required to take an entrance examination.
Overseas students must submit school reports for the previous two years; certificates, if appropriate (GCSE or equivalent and any other exams taken) and a written reference from the Head of current/previous school.
All applicants are required to have a good standard of spoken English – this is a particular requirement of the UK Border Agency when Visas are required. On arrival at the College, students are required to complete a diagnostic test to determine their level and needs. Extra English lessons can be provided at an additional cost of £300-£500 per term.
A non-refundable Registration Fee of £75 is required when registering. Where an overseas student is currently educated in a UK school, the general assessment applied to UK students can be undertaken if the candidate is able to visit the College. Alternatively, if the student is unable to visit us, we will send appropriate examination papers to an Agent or to the student’s current school for them to invigilate on our behalf. Candidates who pass the examination will be offered a place at Scarborough College – acceptance of the place is by return of the Acceptance Form, together with payment of the required fee.
All students living outside the United Kingdom and Ireland are required to have a UK Guardian. Please note that Scarborough College cannot take responsibility for finding Guardians, but we can provide guidance on how to find a Guardian if this is difficult.
Please click here to find our policies, such as our Admissions Policy. You can find our school fees and related costs for the 2019-20 academic year on this page. Both are reviewed annually and school fees for the next academic year are generally released by the end of March, before the following September.
