If you wish to arrange a visit or discuss available sessions, Mrs Jackie Hunter, the Head of Little Owls, can also be contacted by telephoning +44(0)1723 362137, mobile 07575 000840 or by emailing email@example.com
Admission is by visit to the school and an interview with the Head of Junior School, Mr Chris Barker. Taster days can be arranged.
Admission at age 11 is following an Entrance Assessment. A Scholarship Examination is held in November, but applications are welcome at any time. Admission at all other ages is subject to recommendation from the previous school, an interview and satisfactory performance in a general assessment.
Our students study the International Baccalaureate. Admission is subject to the achievement of a minimum of five GCSEs at Grades A* to C, or equivalent, and an interview with IB staff. Students may be required to take an entrance examination. There is a Sixth Form Scholarship Examination in February for UK and MOD entrants.
To arrange a visit, please contact Amy Grace as detailed above.
Overseas Students are required to submit:-
- School reports for the previous two years
- Certificates, if appropriate (GCSE or equivalent and any other exams taken)
- Written reference from the Head of current/previous school
All applicants are required to have a good standard of spoken English – this is a particular requirement of the UK Border Agency when Visas are required. On arrival at the College, students are required to complete a diagnostic test to determine their level and needs. Extra English lessons can be provided at an additional cost of £300-£500 per term.
A non-refundable Registration Fee of £50 is required when registering. Where an overseas student is currently educated in a UK school, the general assessment applied to UK students can be undertaken if the candidate is able to visit the College. Alternatively, if the student is unable to visit us, we will send appropriate examination papers to an Agent or to the student’s current school for them to invigilate on our behalf. Candidates who pass the examination will be offered a place at Scarborough College – acceptance of the place is by return of the Acceptance Form, together with payment of the required fee.
All students living outside the European Union are required to have a UK Guardian. Students within the EU may list a Guardian, if they wish. Please note that Scarborough College cannot take responsibility for finding Guardians, but we can provide guidance on how to find a Guardian if this is difficult.
