The best way to see any school is by opening its doors and stepping inside. At Scarborough College, there are several ways to visit and find out what we are all about. In addition to our Whole School Open Day in the Autumn Term, we host Open Fridays throughout the Academic Year and our doors are always open to families who would like to visit us at any time.
Visiting an Open Day is perfect if you are looking to enrol your son or daughter at Scarborough College. They are also good opportunities to introduce the whole family to College life. Open days are more of a festive event, and you will find that many departments organise special activities and treats to share their expertise. Although the Head will speak to everyone attending, you might find it is difficult to speak to the Head for a longer period of time. If you are interested in meeting with the Head, then it might be worthwhile booking a place on our Friday’s for You dates or contacting us to arrange a bespoke visit.
Our Whole School Open Day will be held on Saturday 5 October 2024. Register your place here.
Friday’s For You are monthly sessions dedicated to visiting families looking to join our College. We hold them throughout the Academic Year to allow families to see the school on a normal day, so you get a taste of the real Scarborough College in action. Fridays For You provide a good opportunity to speak to many different members of staff, find out more about student year groups, join in your favourite lesson as a family, visit the boarding houses, and perhaps even start the weekend early (and in style).
Friday’s for You sessions will begin again in January 2025. Please check later in the year for more details.
Visits are more tailored to an individual future pupil. We organise them throughout the year and on most days to suit you, though we prefer a day in term time. Families can visit the school and receive a personalised tour of the school as well as the boarding houses.
Tasters are great for those families who would like to get a real sense of Scarborough College. For the taster session, please drop off your child in the morning in their own school uniform. We assign them with a buddy for the day who will look after them throughout – from registration to home-time. Together, they will go to lessons, have lunch, play sports and get a genuine taste of life at the College. Where possible and applicable, we can organise tasters stays in the boarding houses too.
If you would like any further information or have any questions about about booking a visit to Scarborough College, please contact our Admissions Team on 01723 360620 or email registrar@scarboroughcollege.co.uk.
