Scarborough College staff and pupils couldn’t be happier at the start of the new academic year with the recent announcement of our rankings in two highly respected league tables, following this summer’s Upper Sixth results. The Class of 2017 have done the College, themselves and their parents proud by ensuring Scarborough College is ranked as a Top 50 Independent School, as published by The Times, with an additional ranking within the Top 10 IB Schools by Best-Schools.co.uk.
As a non selective school, where our minimum entry requirement for the Sixth Form is 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, it just goes to prove how much academic value is being added to all outcomes for our students, and that the IB Diploma really engages students of all abilities and with varied academic interests. It offers them a qualification with real university clout and with undergraduate skills already honed. With over 80% of our leavers entering their first choice of university it goes to show that the IB continues to be increasingly popular with the top Russell Group universities which in turn ensures our students have every opportunity to ultimately gain a highly desired degree.
With small class sizes, a ‘can do’ attitude and as much emphasis on learning outside of the classroom as within it, the Scarborough College experience is definitely ticking all the right boxes in the world of modern education.
