As part of our week long celebrations for the Chinese New Year, five of our students from Hong Kong and China visited Lealholm Primary School to give a presentation on the Chinese New Year and the Chinese Culture.
Lealholm pupils were shown how to eat with chopsticks, drink green tea and learn some chinese writing. They were also given a lucky red pocket and some chinese candy.
The five College students were using this experience as part of their CAS project for their International Baccalaureate Diploma qualification.
Last weekend our boarding community celebrated the 'Year of the Rooster' with a party which included lots of chinese food (all eaten with chopsticks!), singing chinese pop songs and a competition to design the best wall hanging. A great time was had by all.
