On Tuesday 27 March, the Sixth Form students of Scarborough College organised and performed at the SC Rock Night 2.
This event was organised by Gaspard, Via and Berenice as part of their IB Diploma CAS project but more importantly the aim was to showcase their talents, have fun and raise money for The Rainbow Centre.
During the evening the musicians entertained a very enthusiastic and appreciative audience of students, staff and parents in Lisvane Hall. The audience was treated to performances by 10 bands who all performed and had their moment of rock star fame on stage. These amazingly talented students represented all year groups of the senior school at Scarborough College and were a credit to the school, their parents and themselves.
It was a fantastic concert and the feedback from everyone was extremely positive. Some of the most memorable performances of the night included:
‘Californiacation’ performed by Basket Case
‘Zombie’ performed by a group including Geraldine, Via and Gaspard
‘My Happy Ending’ was performed by Black and Yellow. The band were so called because of their black outfits and their Asian origins.
During the evening the students also hosted a raffle with a lovely Hunmanby Pantry Hamper and numerous chocolate Easter Eggs up for grabs! The evening not only was enjoyed by everyone involved but raised £173 for The Rainbow Centre.
Rock Night 2 was hugely successful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night.
Thanks goes to the two compares of the evening, Emily and Victoria, plus none of this would have been possible without the support and guidance of Mr Hughes and Mrs Leeson. Thanks to everyone involved and who supported the event.
Look out for Rock Night 3 – coming to a school near you in March 2019!
