IB Results for the Class of 2015

Scarborough College is celebrating its sixth form results in the prestigious International Baccalaureate examinations which are published today.  Over 85% of the students gained the full Diploma including those who achieved the bi-lingual diploma.

The IB Diploma requires students to study six subjects to an advanced level, including maths, a modern language and a science. The maximum possible number of points is 45.  Those who achieve these scores are amongst an elite group as only 5% of students worldwide achieve this level.  We particularly congratulate Christopher North who achieved a brilliant 43 points.  He will go on to study Economics at Warwick.  Other students who exceeded 40 points were Frances Livera and Matthew Bennion.  Frances is headed for York to study Chemistry and Matthew will go on to Imperial College, London to study Aeronautical Engineering. Alan Lewis, has already launched a career as a singer but will also be going to Warwick to do Film Studies.  Sophie Wynands is heading for the University of Antwerp to do veterinary science.

The Headmistress of the College, Isobel Nixon said, “The IB is studied all over the world and provides students with a truly global education.  This is why Scarborough College is home to over 15 nationalities.  They are drawn by the international mix in the sixth form and the value of the IB as a qualification.  We are extremely proud of all our students and wish them well as they go on to their selected courses.”
