Pupils from Year 5 and 6 at Scarborough College have tried to improve their local area by litter picking the paths around the Mere in Scarborough. 18 bags of rubbish were removed and the children were amazed by how much rubbish had been left lying around. The event was organised by four sixth formers who as part of their IB studies are encouraged to help local communities. Scarborough Council also help the day providing much of the equipment need to collect the litter. The children had designed and made their own litter pickers in their Design and Technology lessons and their designs passed with flying colours on the day!
