Scarborough College has been synonymous with hockey for many decades. In recent years, the development of hockey training has taken flight, placing the College among the very best schools offering hockey. In the past two years, the different representative teams and First XI’s have achieved great things. These include the National Semi-finals for the U18s, the National Finals for the U16s, the U16s Indoor Nationals, District Championships in many age categories and much more.
Hockey training starts in Prep School where qualified coaches and ex-players introduce children to the game. In Year 3, they start to take on rival schools on a well-balanced fixture card, allowing development but, above all, fun. In the Senior School, we offer a hockey Enrichment Programme to develop skills further and in smaller sessions. Boys and girls play weekend fixtures from U12 level to U15 level, as indoor hockey is added to their training.
With partners such as York HC, Driffield HC and local Scarborough Hockey Club; the College can offer adult fixtures on Saturdays to its senior players. Senior and representative players also have the opportunity for further development through video analysis, one-to-one coaching and specialist goalkeeping coaching. If you would like to find out more about hockey at Scarborough College, please contact our Admissions Department.
