At Bramcote Junior School we take great pride in offering that something extra and different that is often not found in the standard junior school curriculum. A wide variety of clubs and activities are offered during the week, both during the school day and after school.
Two lessons on a Wednesday afternoon are set aside specifically for activities as part of the Enrichment Programme. All children in Years 3 to 6 are allocated to different activities. As a general rule these groups change each term so that pupils experience a wide range of activities throughout the year. Recent activities have included: swimming, pottery, textiles, cross country, drama, board games and craft. In addition to Wednesday afternoons there are after school clubs and activities available for all children from Reception through to Year 6. These are voluntary sessions and take place from 3.30 p.m. to 4.10 p.m. for infants and 4.15 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. for the juniors. A selection of recent activities has included craft, football, netball, fly tying, recorder, ball skills, cricket nets, Italian and rounders.
In addition to the extensive list of activities offered there is also the provision for junior children to stay in school for supervised prep sessions and for infants to be supervised until collection up to 6.00 p.m.
