In the early years there are many opportunities for children to explore ideas and take part in dramatic activities. As they progress through the school they will participate in more formal drama lessons.
The dramatic life of Bramcote Junior School is a continuously evolving process of experience. There are school productions from the earliest years staged in various locations at different times of the year, but performances are also presented by smaller groups. The emphasis is on participation, teamwork, personal development and quality, particularly when Drama links with Music to stage one of the musicals which are a special BJS strength.
Lessons can be arranged to follow the LAMDA courses in a range of Drama related skills including Musical Theatre, the Speaking of Verse and Prose and Public Speaking to name just a few. These lessons are taught by well qualified Drama specialists and the children work towards externally examined certificates at the levels appropriate to their age and ability. They can start at age 5 and continue through to the senior school and gold medal standard. The lessons are offered at an extra charge, on a rota basis during the school day. Please contact the BJS Reception if you would like further information.
