Bankory is the College’s Senior boys boarding house. A medium-sized property, Bankory is located opposite the playing fields on the south side of the College. The house consists of 32 single rooms with en-suite bathroom. The house also boasts three small lounges, each with its own kitchen, and immediate access to the College’s playing fields.
Bankory Senior Boys boarding house is specifically designed for boys in Years 11 and 12. It is small, friendly but large enough for a dynamic house. The single rooms ensure the boys can study quietly for their GCSE exams or ensure their first year in Sixth Form is a success.
There are two resident houseparents in Bankory, as well as a third resident house tutor and four visiting tutors, Monday through to Thursday. Bankory’s unique location means the boys have quick access to the front door of the school, the playing fields and the astro turf. Other sports facilities, such as the athletics track and sports hall, are five minutes’ walk.
With three lounges and kitchens, the boys have good access to social spaces and plenty of opportunities to hone their culinary skills. Although the houses are all unique, the boarders come together for social events, trips and visits. The students often visit the different houses and share all the facilities, developing some very important long term friendships.
