The Junior School

We would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Scarborough College Junior School and hope that our website provides a brief insight into this small, friendly school. We strive to create and maintain a happy, supportive and committed community that propels a desire for excellence in every area of school life and provides the children in our care with the best of all opportunities.

Choosing the right junior school is one of the most important decisions a parent will make. This is a time when foundations are laid for the whole of a child’s future education.

Scarborough College Junior School is a small and friendly place where every child is treated as an individual. The School, once known as Lisvane, benefits hugely from its location in new purpose-built premises. Our pupils enjoy extensive facilities including science laboratories, ICT suites, drama studio, music school, sports/drama hall, a full size all-weather pitch, and acres of superb playing fields. Indeed, few junior schools in the country could claim finer accommodation.

Through the caring pastoral system and broad academic curriculum, the school lays solid foundations in the development of well-motivated, confident and happy children who are willing to give of their best on the road to high achievement. As a school, we recognize that children bring with them a wide and colourful variety of experiences and talents. We believe that, through building happy working relationships, each child is enabled to thrive both in, and out of, the classroom.

Class sizes are small and, therefore, an individual pupil's contact time with the teaching staff is high, enabling the teachers to assess and develop strengths and areas for improvement to great effect.

Choosing your child's educational path depends on many factors. Our website will answer a lot of your questions, but many more will be answered by a visit. Do come and talk to us. We will be delighted to show you around Scarborough College Junior School and take the time to discuss your child’s future.
